That'd be quite a successful night for Amy Winehouse then - not so much that she won five Grammys, but more that she turned in two performances for prime-time US TV without screwing up. Watching the performances, though ( they're on the DailyMotion ) there is a rather nagging question: where did that audience come from? Who were they? Did they have to pay $300 a head to be there? Alicia Keys clumsily claims that the concept of "gangsta rap" was a concoction of the government/media in a Blender interview, and uncommercial maverick artists like 50 Cent get in a tizzy over the idea that they might be playing into some sort of conglomerate-approved caricature. "I don't like Alicia Keys no more though ... the same reason why I said that I don't like Oprah Winfrey." moaned Fid, "I'm prejudice(d). I don't like people who don't like me." Songs In A Minor is the latest Pop CD put out by the extremely talented Alicia Keys who once again has delivered a brilliant collection of tracks. I'm confident Alicia Keys fans, and Pop fans alike will be pleased with this one. Refreshingly, this was one of those CDs I was able to just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end.

Wouldn't roles in upcoming prestige pics with names like The Secret Life Of Bees and Composition In Black And White scratch your thespian itch enough that you can pass on dialogue like "my mom is on Facebook?!"
